AR15 TAKEDOWN

with sylvan folding adapter

WARNING:

Before handling ANY firearm, ALWAYS follow the first three rules of gun safety:

1) Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy

2) Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot

3) Do not load the firearm until you are ready to shoot

*Remove the magazine and ammunition from the firearm and keep them in a separate location during the takedown process

Visually and physically inspect that the firearm is unloaded by looking into the chamber and touching the breach face with your finger or a plastic punch.

  • STEP 1:

Lock the bolt carrier group back by pulling the charging handle and pressing the bolt catch.

  • step 2:

After confirming the firearm is unloaded and safe for takedown, cycle or let the bolt carrier group slide completely forward.
Press the button on the Sylvan folding adapter to unlock the hinge and then fold the firearm

  • STEP 3:

Completely remove the buffer extension from the back of the bolt carrier group

  • STEP 4:

Using your thumb or index finger press into the back of the bolt carrier to make sure it is completely seated or locked forward into the breech face of the barrel

  • STEP 5:

Push on the smaller side of the rear takedown pin to push it almost completely out of the firearm. The pin is designed to remain attached to the firearm with its internal spring and detent.

  • STEP 6:

Using the front takedown pin as a hinge point, allow the firearm to swing open to access the charging handle and bolt carrier group
